Spotlight On: EASE THE MEDIC

Columbus, Ohio’s EASE THE MEDIC and a powerful indie rock five piece that’s poised to have a busy 2011. The group, founded in 2005, has a brand new song titled “Churchill’s Down” on Chapter 12 of Deep Elm’s “Emo Diaries,” and will be releasing a split 7″ in March with THE GARRISON on We Want Action Records. Building on that, a new full-length is already in the can and will be out in Spring/Summer on a label to be determined (… and if it’s Deep Elm, that wouldn’t be a surprise at all). I kind of a get SLINT/SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE vibe from the band, but with reaches to harder and more ambient extremes. Four songs from the group can be heard on their Sonic Bids page, and you can stream “Churchill’s Down” here.
