About

The Lowdown: Jordan A. Baker, Editor and Owner of Pastepunk.com started the site in the fall of 1998, in his dorm room at the University of Maryland in College Park. Over the years, Pastepunk has attempted to cover a massive swath of punk, hardcore, emo, indie, and metal, and yet amazingly, there’s always something new for us to rave over. In addition to being an updated-daily webzine with news, reviews, interviews, downloads, and more, we have released two CD compilations, known as the “Broken Lamps and Hardcore Memories” series (2002, 2004), and both were distributed by our friends at Suburban Home Records. The CDs are long out of print, but you can still find them online from time to time. Two free digital compilations were issued as well in conjunction with our friends at Beartrap PR, celebrating the site’s 10th and 12th anniversaries. Another digital compilation is expected in late 2012.

History Via Screenshot and Timeline: Coming soon maybe? sorta? ehhh… just go take a look at the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. The first version of Pastepunk was hosted on Angelfire. Then we moved to web space owned by the University of Maryland until we were kicked off of that. We have been with Prohosting ever since.
